As an artist / printmaker, I draw my inspiration from the surrounding landscape of Perthshire, the West Coast and Mountainous regions of Scotland. I seek to convey the symbiotic relationship between the elements of weather, land and the interplay of the hidden and the revealed scene. In my work I seek to evoke a glimpse, a moment in time and the sense of mood and fragility of the land and place.

I seek out secret / hidden areas where water and geology come together, especially areas where water has formed rock, mountains and land.

My specialist printmaking processes are Watercolour Monoprinting and Collagraphy, often incorporating Chine Colle and etching. These methods, I find, suit my way of expressing my intuitive response to the energy and enfolding drama of the landscape. Printmaking enables me to explore, investigate and experiment with my chosen subject through the use of mark making, application of textures, playing with composition and collage.
